The Workshop's Objectives
OBJECTIVES:
The objectives for which the workshop was established are all charitable. They are;
- Accept suitable handicapped children from the Jacaranda special school for the handicapped and to train them to fabricate costume jewellery and the like or any other trade or vocation and to provide them with employment in such trade or vocation.
- Engage in such trade or business as would provide suitable paid employment to ex-students of the Jacaranda Special school for the handicapped as the directors may deem fit.
- Collaborate with other charities , technical institutions of learning, schools, etc engaged in purposes similar to those the Workshop and to enter into agreements or arrangements of co-operation and exchange information with them in furtherance of the objectives of the workshop
- Employ and engage either on paid or voluntary basis qualified staff and personnel with expertise in the field of the workshop's business and undertakings and to enter into agreements and arrangements of co-operation with other institutions engaged in similar undertakings here in Kenya or elsewhere.
- Take such steps by personal or written appeal, public meetings or otherwise as may from time to time be deemed expedient for the purpose of procuring contributions to the funds of the workshop in the shape of endowments, donations, annual subscriptions or otherwise; and to promote, assist in the promotion of or otherwise participate in such things as have for their object of raising money for the purpose of the workshop.
- Apply to any international bodies, governments or authorities, national bodies, public organizations, corporations, companies or persons for and to accept grants or money and of land, donations, gifts, subscriptions and other assistance with a view to promoting the objects of the workshop and in taking any gift or property and to take the same subject to any special trust which may be prescribed by the donor thereof.
- Promote or assisting the promotion of any company or association having objects of the Workshop and also assist and also assist any company or association directly or indirectly to benefit the workshop in the attainment of it's objects.
- Borrow or raise any money that may be required by the workshop upon such terms and upon such security as may be deemed advisable.
- Draw, make, accept endorse, discount, execute and issue cheques, promissory notes, bills of exchange, warrants, debentures and other negotiable or transferable instruments.
- Do all such things as may be conducive or incidental to the attainment of the above objectives.
- Establish centers anywhere in Kenya for the purpose of carrying out or promoting the objects of the workshop
- Engage in activities to promote and assist handicapped children in Kenya.
